4 Simple Ways to Know if Your Dog is Bonded to You

How close do you think you are to your dog? How much does your dog trust you? Although it may be the simplest check-up, “love” must be a premise.
Below are the following ways to see if your dog is bonded to you. (Side note: These are not absolute, but please refer to it :)

1. Listen and respond to you
Responsiveness is one of the biggest signs that you and your dog have formed a strong bond. If your dog listens and responds to you when you speak, and obeys the commands you give, it shows that they are attached to you. Coming to you when called is one of the most important cues for your dog to respond to for it can keep them safe from dangerous situations. Try to give your dog a good memory every time his/her name is called, for coming to you should be the best thing that happens to them all day!

2. Are relaxed with you
Dogs are in their most defenseless state when they are deeply asleep. If your dog lays down and takes a nap by your side, it is showing you how much they trust you and how much they like being close to you which is another sign of a strong bond.

3. Make an eye contact
Just as humans stare and look into the eyes of someone we adore, dogs also stare into their owners to express affection. By looking at your dogs eyes, you can make better connection with your them.

4. They show affection towards you
In general, dogs tend to lick people to show affection, as a greeting, or just to simply get your attention. If your dog licks you, then you can pet them instead of ignoring and walking away.

There may be some differences depending on the personality of the dog, but if your dog acts in certain behaviors mentioned above, it means that he/she really trusts and likes you
